One of the most obvious, albiet more expensive, ways to deal with a computer failure is redundancy. Carry *2 computers* with you at all times. I have an Aladin Pro that I've used for years and recently bought the Nemisis Nitrox II. When 1 computer fails just use the back up. This applies to all diving equipment. It may get a little tricky when diving Nitrox however. If the Nemisis shuts down while I'm on EAN I pull out my tables and calculate the best I can (most of the time terminating the dive). When I get topside I'll use tables with a large safety margins put in to calculate for subsequent dives. This is just the way I do it. By no means is it the best solution.
