This has been interesting - The thread commenced with a discussion of a substitute for the Jersey Reel, a rather bulky piece of gear used by N.Atl Wreck Divers as a back-up, tethered to wreck decompression stop device. A posting on use of cross wreck reels for both purposes (ascent, if necessary, penetration/way back, if so used) drew a flame or two, & two sub themes (subthemes were - should way back lines be used & deco procedures in the UK (read high current). Much learning was going on, even with the flames of the ignoramus who think they know all & have the flexibility of a steel ball bearing when it comes to 'novel' or 'alien' prodecures. What compounds that is they fail read and/or comprehend the subtelties of the well formed electrons & fire away. What a waste, as then it becomes hard to give them credence. Just some thoughts. Thanks for enlightening me about deco procedures in the UK. Actually similar procedures are used drift diving/drift diving wrecks in Florida. The UK does have the 'sausage' with one way fill system. We have to rely on a lift bag (some even have a diver down painted on it!) I want the sausage - will call AP VAlves! Regards & good diving Esat Atikkan
