Subject: Light Mounting on Waist
Date: Fri, 26 Jan 1996 20:29:48 -0500
Tony, to mount the cylinderical cannister light on your waist so it will =
not move around, you may try the following:

Take two stainless steel weight belt stops and bend them 90 degrees =
along the length so that you still have a slot wide enough to get the =
waist belt webbing through. Slice two narrow circular rings from a =
small diameter tire inner tube and place around the cannister. Slide =
two 300 SS grade hose clamps through the slots in the weight stops and =
fasten around the cannister on top of the inner tube rubber bands =
(protect the housing from the hose clamps). Trim any additional overhang =
from the hose clamps. Space the weight stops about 2 1/2 inches and =
secure the clamps. You should now have two slots (weight stop slots) on =
the side of the cannister for the waist belt. Slide the cannister on =
the belt almost all the way to the backplate. You may want to slide an =
additional weight stop up against the cannister to keep it from slipping =
forward (usually will not). =20

This rig will not move around, period! You will not even notice your =
cannister on the dive. It's clean and tight.

Just my two cents,
Doug Chapman
