Subject: RE: Scubapro TRAC
For your info :

Hello Gert,

I have a TRAC since Augus last year. I must say it certainly has both
advantages and disadvantages. Here they are :

1. PRO

- Very good readout of information due to the large LCD display
- Adapts very quickly on the diving circumstances with regards to air
consumption

2. CONTRA

- Only two "buttons" are available for operating (with wet fingers). This
means that shortly after a dive you cannot go from surface mode to history
mode (to readout your last dive data) because it will swith back to DIVE mode.
This means that for several hours you do not know what your last dive data are
!!!!

- No light for night dives
- Not possible to download data to a Pc

Hope this helps !

Regards,

Gert, I believed to be the only diver in the whole world using a
Scubapro TRAC. It is my first computer so I am not able to compare it
to other computers. In addition I have buyed it a year ago using
it only for about 30 dives. So far I haven't had problems and I am
very satisfied of it. It is very intuitive and simple to read.
It does not alternate the data in the display so you are always sure
of having read the desired information.
It is very conservative, but this is not a problem for me: I am not a
Rambo diver...
The air integration is a very useful feature and I suggest to every
diver to chose it for their next computer. The only problem with TRAC
is the display which IMO is not conveniently protected agains scratches
etc. Safe diving with TRAC. Giovanni
