     This is another verifiable horror story.  Last summer 4 divers (one 
     female, 3 males) were diving on a reef from an inflatable off Al-Kmas. 
     This is a city here in Saudi, south of Jeddah.  During the dive an 
     awesome current came up and when the two buddy pairs surfaced the boat 
     was a long ways away.  No one was on board their inflatable.  They 
     tried to swim for it and got separated.  Only the girl made it.  It 
     took her 3 hours of solid swimming and when she climbed aboard she 
     passed out for some time.  When she awoke she didn't know how to start 
     the engine or anything.  Being resourceful she figured it out and 
     alerted the Coast Guard as her buddies were long gone.  A search was 
     initiated and 1 buddy was found after 24h and the other 2 after 48h.  
     This is remote diving so if she hadn't made it to the boat it might 
     have been some time, if ever, before they could've been found.  I 
     don't know about the guys but she dove the following weekend and 
     continues to dive.
