     Many of you may be missing the boat here on the hose 
argument. What we have with the long hose breathing is
a soltution to several problems, not just the cleanest
air-share. A discussions of the problems solved by this
method only has the share as one of the elements. 

     Philsophicly, the hose may represent another common
problem in diving : the slaying of the unseen demon. Any 
effort to lopside your strategy to accomodate an unseen 
demon will unnecessarily subject you to accommodations to
this demon that will result in convolutions to your whole
kit and the philosophy of your overall plan.

      Look at the other benefits other than the share for a 
bit, and you will see what I mean. -G
