George: I have never seen a fatality report in which stowing the long hose was the cause or even a contrbuting factor of the fatality. Have you? A lot of what we all would consider to be a safe practice is taken from accident analysis reports. Most often when a peice of equipment, style or practice is free from any serious or life threading problems based on past performace then it is considered safe. A properly stowed hose and I emphasize properly, will give the diver full access to his valves while protecting the hose from entanglements and will reduce the risk of damage to the hose. Would I consider this safe? yes Take Care John
