I give up.

I have been racking my miniscule brain for quite a while now, and I just
can't recall having seen an explicit statement of Rule #1.  From context,
it seems that it has to be either:

    Rule 1:  Do it right or don't do it at all.

or

    Rule 1:  Never dive with strokes.

But I suppose it could be something else.

George, please contribute to the education of this newbie and the world at
large.  What is Rule #1?
