Consider this from Obie One (Mount).  This is from "Mixed Gas Diving," 
Mount et al, chapter 13 - Equipment Configuration (chapter authored by 
Mount)  page 244:

Method Three (author's system)
    - Long hose is tucked under surgical tubing; three bands on right
      side of tank(s)...
    - Double back mounted flotation systems...

This list is annotated and contains only items that were discussed in 
my original post.

The purpose of the post was not to resolve any fears that may exist 
about diving, but rather to make a well informed decision about gear 
set up and usage.

Any comments about what Mount is recommending here?  After all, is he 
not "Obie One"?
