Hi Michael !

I use a floating twined bright yellow rope, length of 60 meters (max. in=

water length), diameters of 8 mm and marked after every 5 meters. I do
not remember the material name but the strength is more than enough.
It's nice to have marks for length so that the guys on surface can have
understanding how long the divers are. We do not do tech, but usual
recreational ice diving.
