Brent Scarabin and Rick Sankey of WKPP added several hundred feet of line in a new system we are working called F-1 in Tallahassee today. Starting from the end of a line that Brent and Steve Irving added last week, which was added onto a lead we found the weekend before in between Wakulla Dives (Bill Mee and I), they followed the flow donstream through a bedding plane restriction at 280 until it broke into a huge room measuring about 200 feet across and 60 feet high with three tunnels heading out of the room. Chosing one at the far end, they continued to add until it appeared that they may have not chosen the best lead. Turning the dive, they went back upstream and broke that open in a lead we found on the first dive in shallow water at 220. We believe this new system will be a huge infeeder to Leon Sinks found on a dive by Bill Gavin and me three years ago in downstream Turner. Tomorrow Rat and Casey will work F-2 and another sink nearby, while Rick and Brent will go back this week with a larger crew to place scooters and bottles past the restriction for a good push (we like to hit the end of the line with full hundreds and a fresh horse). Next weekend, depending on the rain situation, we will continue this and start the Forest, with a downstream Sullivan dive (Casey, JJ and I ) to find out where the dirty water is coming from. We will go with the flow until we hit the Bitter End / Big Dismal Tunnel or find the incoming tanic. The rest of the crew will dive upsream. - G
