But you see...if someone asks a question, then you can pretty much safely assume that s/he doesn't know the answer. Therefore s/he is probably not very good at distinguishing the "good" information from the not-so-good stuff. When faced with several sets of conflicting information (as is often posted on this and other forums), a person may be left more confused than before the question was asked. To sort out which sets of information are the "good" ones, it can be useful to have a grasp of the credentials of the information provider. If I didn't know you, and I asked a question about cave diving, and I got conflicting information from you and somebody who has been diving for less than a year, well, I wouldn't be sure which of you to trust unless I knew both of your credentials. Obviously, since I do know your credentials, I would trust the guy with less than a year of experience before I would trust you. Aloha, Rich
