I agree with your recommendation. Visit the scuba forum - not everyone 
is active, but everyone who counts has an account and monitors it. It's 
membership is far from perfect, but it's at least its a forum that 
supports *professional* discussions and no single person makes himself 
the "only god" of all divers.

Oh, while you're there, "read the posts"!
