[This message is converted from WPS-PLUS to ASCII] harry, the gas separation and rolling are both hogwash. some idiot came up with that and more idiots followed afterwards. the gas is 99% mixed and homogeneous as soon as you pull off the fill whip. the only concern one MIGHT have is with helium fills that sit around a long time. the helium molecules may find a way out of the cylinder. if you analyze those after you fill but wait a while to dive the mix, analyze it again before you dive. the seals weren't designed for the smaller helium molecules. this may be a serious over-exaggeration, but it should be your only concern. one may ask what the difference is between scuba valve seals and helium (cga580) valve seals on a dedicated helium cylinder. the difference is that nobody in the gas industry is going to end up dead or bent if a small amount of helium leaks out of a helium cylinder set up for normal use. safe diving, scott (chemical engineer)
