Hello Jeff I did not consider air breaks to be needed due to the very small o2 exposure. Recall that we were doing average 5 air dives in the 40' to 85' range with 5 minute air decos over five day periods with 2 day layoffs on the weekends. The surface o2 for 45 minutes between dives was followed by approximately 15 minutes of air time while gearing in and entering the water. A single 45 minute 1 ata o2 exposure only yields 45 otu's. The total oxygen exposure from 4 such 45 minute o2 surface interals plus the air diving would still be far below Hamilton's recommended maximum of 460 otu's for a 5 day diving schedule. As far as air breaks not being usefull in preventing cns toxicity I believe you will find you are mistaken. >
