Yes, both of Gentile's wreck diving books suffer from a smattering of
inaccuracies that are unfortunate.  The one that bothers me most is
his assertion in both books that if you blow your deco and surface,
but then redescend within 5 minutes, you can simply complete your deco
and "you will not get bent."

He has *seriously* confused commercial Sur-D procedures with reality. 

_Mixed Gas Diving_ makes the same error, though they include all sorts
of complicated procedures designed to make it safer.  I think it's
time someone wrote an article and exploded this myth.

Absolutely.  Do *NOT* follow their in-water procedures for missed
decompression stops!
