I have found that it is not much harder to reach my left tank valve. The main thing to watch for is that the hoses may block easy access to the knob. In that case, or if one has trouble reaching the inside knob, it would be a good idea to use the left side modular manifold valve from Dive-Rite, Sea Elite, or OMS withe the plug in the side. This would put the left side knob on the outside. I agree that the isolator valve may solve some problems, but it creates others that I prefer not to deal with. For manifold lovers, I noticed in a dive shop display a new 300 bar Dive-Rite manifold. At last it is possible to get a good 300 bar din manifold with a double O-ring seal in the crossover that does not have an isolator valve.
