Hi, I tend to agree with George, but then again, in practice, I have tapped out a damaged thread, then hydroed it to 500 bar (7250 psi) and it held up Ok. Depends on if it is "bad" or "not too bad" which is a judgement call. Anyway, the tap you need is a standard 5/8 BSP (British Standard Pipe) parallel, which here at least, is an off the shelf item. Don't get the taper by mistake ;) It's called BSPT. Cheers Jason =:) PS isn't 477 the O2/nitrox fitting? PPS Careful you don't get some funny american tap into it. The pitch is the same (14 tpi) as some american threads, but the thread form is different (55 vs 60 degrees)
