Bell Computing have a DOS version as well as a Windows version (calculations based on ideal gas law). Ronnie Bell which is on the list could provide more information. >I am interrested in decompression gas mixing and have been told that a >50/50 02/nitrogen is nearly as good as 100% 02 for deco. Is this true? For the shallow stops, EAN 80 or O2 are more efficient. EAN80 has some benefits over O2. It can be used deeper and the time that you are exposed at a high PiO2 is less (reduced risks of CNS O2 toxicity). As mentioned, EAN50 is not the best choice for shallow stops as it is less efficient than the two other gas. However, it is useful from a depth of 70 and less (I don't use it as the final decompression gas). A final note. If you have the proper training for those dives, you should not have a question such as this one. This information is provided during technical diving training. I suggest that you look for such training... it's interesting, there is a lot to learn, and it makes you a better diver. Michel Therrien m.therrien@ne*.qc*.ca*
