   Well... You'll expose the inner components to a higher pressure, 
and risk having them explode when the pressure decreases. Cousteau 
had more than one camera blow up in his face when he used to 
pressurize his camera cases at depth.

Also, some pressure could conceivably make it's way into the bulb
compartment, though the cable (water got into the bulb that way in
one of my friend's homebuilt lamp - most of my friends are making
their own lights). I dunno about bulbs, but having already a vacuum 
inside them, I wonder how keen they'd be to have to bear a few extra 
atmospheres before imploding...

And finally, I wonder how many serious divers would be keen to have 
an extra hose (read: failure point) running from their tanks to their 
lamps... My guess is that it could be a good reason to be called a 
B.S. (Blatant Stroke, that is)...
