It was not a dive >rite, it was one made by Powerhead Pat , the Ultimate spear >gun guy, and Volker was wearing it. Volker thought it was >me shooting his fish- G And of course, there was the time George wanted to see how big the bang was when a 444 marlin powerhead goes off, so he shot one at a fish trap a few feet away from powerhead Pat and me....and then started laughing through his reg so hard he almost choked...the rest of the dive Pat and I kept swimming in circles and seeing what looked like dive rite light implosions everywhere we looked! On the previous post, about the Ultimate Dive Light Pat made me, the case and head were indestructible to the bottom of the Challenger Deep, but the lens I had on it had micro-fissures in it from the manner in which it had been [cut, stamped??I'm not sure which] . On the dive to 270-280 when the lens imploded, it sounded like a 357 magnum powerhead going off---I started to give George a dirty look, but the sudden darkness clued me in on the implosion. This implosion led to Pat using an entirely different process to have his lens produced. The last series he made were and are among the most awesome dive lights you will ever see. Unfortunately, he retired from the manufacturing business, so its hard to find many of these anymore. Dan Dan Volker SOUTH FLORIDA DIVE JOURNAL http://www.florida.net/scuba/dive 407-683-3592
