I agree real cheap and bad wiring - all connectors are crimped not soldered -
the boot over the switch also unscrews every so often

the cord glands (both on the light head and the cannister) are plastic screw
down onto rubber grommets - not good quality - we have had one head that
leaked constantly - Jump in here Andy if you want

The light head reflectors are lightweight - the reflector is crimped to the
handle - I kept breaking mine off - The screwdown between the reflector
assembly and head is small and snaps easy

Sorry to hear you got the video head - IME the video head (we got given one)
reflects about as much light as a tin can - In fact in Scapa last year I
again broke the reflector off my light head and lost it during the ascent its
on the Dreseden if any one wants to find it - I made a replacment reflector
out of a Budweiser beer can - it worked better than the video head !!!

This also leads to problems - the two half of the container use this lexan
plate to prevent the O ring compressing Too much - this means that the two
halfs of the case and the spacer are all matched - if you have more than one
of these (like the team uses them) you can have hours of fun finding out who
has got who's canisters
