> There is a sort of big aeroplane called a `water bomber', which can fly at >zero height over lakes or the sea and scoop up a lot of water (plus whatever >is in the water) through a belly scoop opening, and then dump all this water >out on a forest fire or etc. I heard that once when a water-bomber plane was >used, a dead snorkeller was found in the remains of the fire afterwards. The most popular of these planes is built by Canadair in Quebec. The openings are on the belly of the plane and scoop up water as it skims along, however, considering that the openings are only 3"x6" it is unlikely that a snorkeller would have been deposited of the fire whole. He was more likely in small snorkeller "bits". /\ / \/\ "Rage, rage, against Randy Johnston /\ / / \ the dying of the light."
