>What's with the negative stuff about Dive Rite equipment. I been using For a historical perspective on the negative publicity on the neutraleak I suggest you peruse the archives of techdiver available via the www at http://www.terra.net/aquanaut and try READING a litle first before you show your true ignorance. FIrst is price. A Spectrum 14 is less expensive than the neutraleak and a MUCH better design and is designed for 750'. >some of it for five years now and it works fine. I like the lights >that everybody is down on. What's the deal. Somebody said that Gary *Deep* - that's the problem and by deep, I mean somewhere between 100-200' as the beginning of "deep". When have you ever seen a pressure vessel with FLAT surfaces? Why don't submarines have flat surfaces? Hint - it has to do with that little pee word - pressure. As the neutraleak lights get subjected to greater pressure, the batteries are called upon to act as a structural member. Now, supposedly Dive Rite actually DESIGNED them this way (can you BELIEVE that!) but it's not something you'd catch ME diving with. There was a reported instance of a neutraleak imploding at 150' when the batteries were not installed and Dive Rite themselves report implosions at 200-500' with no battery. >Gentile liked them and everybody says he's a great diver. Seems like Sounds like someone is putting words in someone elses mouth. I'll make no claims for anyone else, they're al big boys and I'm sure you'll hear from a few others on this list too. >some of the rude people on this list needs to go back and read some >ettiquette books. If the Dive Rite lights are not working out it's >because the cheap college kids that are using them don't know how. If Yea, you need to have a phD to run the switch on properly to keep it from leaking :^) PUHLEAZE, give me a f**king break. The design sucks, it's wrong, and it's going to be replaced after the world wakes up and notices how bad these are. Even Dive Rite realizes that it has problems but they just haven't redesigned it yet. >they quit spending daddy's money on cave diving and spent more time >getting educated maybe they could learn how to use them right. Dive >Rite means dive right! Mike Gladso. You ought to learn a little first before you get on the WRONG bandwagon. Not many people defend the neutraleak anymore. Hell, even the people at dive rite wouldn't defend it if they weren't building it, but, for now, they're stuck with it - it pays their mortgage. And, before you go calling me a "college kid" you has better learn WHO you're talking to. -Carl-
