Subject: Re: Brazilian cave dive law ( Guys, look at this joke)

John

Have you have ever heard the expression: "Take the cotton out of your ears
and put in your mouth"? Have your "Brazilian friend" apparently gone
through at least elementary school here in Brazil? If so, your "friend"
would had been able to READ and UNDERSTAND the mentioned e-mail. So, as
both you and your "friend" are complete morons, let me break it down to
you:

1. Any cave, dry or wet, here in Brazil belongs to the State, doesn't
matter who is the owner of the land that it is in. The caves are treated as
they were National Parks, and our Legislation requires that any visitation
is to be conducted under the tutelage of a certified guide. As it is, our
Legislation does not discriminate a water-filled cave from any National
Park ie. dry cave. The whole discussion is to try and change the
Legislation regarding National Parks.

2. I had never saw a cave dive conducted by divers "hand in hand like kids
in a elementary school". Had your PADI Cavern course been conducted in this
way?

3. DIR is well spread out here. We have four GUE instructors, and JJ
himself had been to Brazil at least couple times, the first time before he
started out GUE. And here we have excellent divers, cave, wreck, whatever.

As for you, here it is a piece of advice. Get your facts straight before
talking about anything. Saves you the embarrassment.

Best regards
Fabricio Rosas Tariki
