Sheck published a small book called " the Blue Print to Survival" back in the 80's. It covered a few accidents that occured with cave diving and what we could all learn from thier mistakes, such as continuos line to the surface, rule of thirds, and deep air diving. Accident analysis is a very important role for all training agencies, but the data collected needs to be accurate and done in a professional manner. Incorrect data or posting false to the whole world over the internet is non-productive. The problem I have had in the past in gathering true information from divers involved in an accident is getting the facts. George is correct when he states the information should be provided as quick as possible, but the information must be correct no matter how long it takes to gather it. Yes we all know the basics of diving, we all know deep air kills. I have decided to provide a section in ADM for Accident Analysis in upcoming issues. This section will be used as a learning tool so that hopefully we can help prevent others from making the same mistakes.
