John Just finished the book by B. Chowdhury (Immersed), the book should come with a warning label. This is a must read for any of you budding tec divers out there in rec world. It will clearly show you why DIR is your only choice for TEC DIVING. Chowdhury relates tales (not just of the Rouses) of diving deep air, solo diving, getting lost, improper gear, improper use of gear, buddies not configured the same, total lack of understanding of deco and more.. The book must be read with the understanding that everything related in the book on conducting a tec dive is wrong. The author has a total lack of understanding of He. or trimix, he claims at one point that a person will breath trimix faster than air (wrong). It is a testament to personal preference (read stroke) or how to do it wrong. It is a book on how not to conduct a tec dive. It also exposes how little industry "leaders" know about conducting safe tec dives. I did not know the Rouses, clearly they were two great people that loved the sport and life. The book would be funny if their deaths were not real, what a waste. If you are thinking of TEC DIVING either DIR or don ' t do it. There is nothing down there worth your life.
