Mike, anyone who has a 14 k modem probably has a rig like that, so can just delete the picture from the server. Otherwise, I went to Little River this weekend and Ginnie with TC, Cameron and Pina. I was up in High Springs helping JJ with his new book. What I observed is that the gear rigs are getting better , at least I did not see any stuffed hoses, but the butt mounting is still going on , and the skill level of the divers is so piss poor that it hurts to watch them dive. I don't know what these people are thinking, but they really suck. The only two guys I saw who were not floundering all over the place were Lamar Hires and Hogarthian Harry Averil, but then of course Lamar you could see a mile away by the yellow boxes on his arms. Some kind of video game or something. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Rodriguez <mikey@ma*.co*> To: Scott Landon <js_landon@ho*.co*> Cc: jammer@oz*.ne* <jammer@oz*.ne*>; Ivanic@di*.ne* <Ivanic@di*.ne*>; cavers@cavers.com <cavers@cavers.com> Date: Tuesday, September 05, 2000 8:04 PM Subject: Re: [Fwd: cave rig pic] >At 01:10 PM 9/5/2000 GMT, Scott Landon wrote: > >>haha - i logged in from work with a T1 connection. took me just a sec to >>read it. those pictures were worth it. > >Guys, while most of us in the US are lucky to have access to T1s, >DSL, and Cable-Modems, there are people on this list from other >parts of the world where Internet access is by 14.4kbps modem and >paid for BY THE MINUTE. > >It's extremely rude, insensitive, and inconsiderate to force-feed >someone a binary attachment, especially a large one.
