This is, of course, true :-) The only times I have seen the EEs leak was using a Delrin Lid in 3deg C water. A problem that was addresed and fixed within a week - and that's to the UK. Both times I've had to fix the AUL of a friend it has been a cannister o-ring problem, not a fault with the unit. Just like a camera, it only needs a hair in the wrong place. I think she'll be a lot more fastidious in the future. As for the repair, I replaced the parts, but did not make any modifications. r Paul > Guys, the real answer is to buy a ligh the does not flood. > Think of it > as a camera housing - would you buy a flooding camera housing > - NO , of > course not. > > Paul Harris wrote: > > > > Chris, > > I'm not sure about this as a solution. > > Some friends and I were discussing non-wicking wire. > > My (humble) opinion is that you need some way of transfering > > air from the light head when you push the test tube on otherwise > > the positive pressure will push it off. > > > > I have noticed that it is much easier to remove or replace the > > test tube when the lid is off the cannister. > > > > r > > Paul > > > > > Claudia, > > > When I replaced my electrical cord I peeled the > > > insulation back from both ends (after cutting it to the right > > > length), put a wad of aquaseal around the wires, then pulled > > > the insulation back up.
