I really like the transparent canister, esp. for saltwater, where it really matters. We do a bubble and a light check (if water is in canister) prior to every dive at the surface. So, only if I got myself an HID, I'd consider buying another light. I would not want to E/O connector and that way I'd have a spare. The whole problem started when the light cord got shortened. The lid didn't close fully anymore and saltwater gave it the rest. The light was completely toast. Now almost everything is replaced, but obviously the light cord got damaged more than one would imagine. Claudia
