I will not make any comment here on the pros and cons of any specific regulators, but my thoughts are..... Not all commercial outlets service/set up regulators to the standard that perhaps they should for serious usage, despite manufacturer level training. (qv: references to alternative interstage pressures) Given the inherent simplicity of the regs I've been involved with, perhaps there is a great deal to be said for stripping, rebuilding, and servicing your own regs (or, at a push getting an individual that you trust to guide you through the process) I would rather do a penetration dive on a reg that I personally consider to have no internal defects, but that has no warranty cover, than one with a lifetime warranty but has not been opened up for just short of a full year. As an aside, if a reg packs up inside a cave and you reach the end of your lifetime, who fills out the warranty claim? Flame on.... Calum
