Subject: Re: Gas Blending Class - Doria Presentation
Byron,

Yo! Dumbfuck!! Over Here!!

Now that I have your attention, listen up. The lists are private. That means no
commercial advertising, period. Got It??

Just think, how many of the people you are talking to here are
divemaster, instructors, shop owners etc. They would all love to send a little
note
about the latest class or event. Thats not what this list is about, and by and
large
we dont get ads here, because we dont want them.

Trader John is a nice guy, and so is Silverstein, but if we let them send
commercials, we have to allow everybody. Plus there is the issue of the time and
effort spent administrating the list. Why should Ken Sallot get nothing for
providing
a vehicle for people to sell the advanced nitrox classes, or whatever. Trader
John
has an email list of his own, if you want his messages subscribe to that.

This is different from a guy selling used stuff, or an invitation to come on a
special trip, although i would think it best if those type of posts were once
only.
If your used junk doesnt move in the first 30 days, it never will. I also like
to
hear from the manufactures, when they give technical info, but not
advertisemnts or
come-ons< for example, Dell Motes recent post on manifolds- thanks Dell>
Posts to
the respective lists should also refer to that topic.Techdiver tends to be a
free for
all, cavers is or cavers. THey are happy to let you lurk, but dont waste
peoples time
w/ non cave stuff there. < example of cave stuff: are gaps better than tees?
is it ok
to scooter the hinkle? What is a hinkle? why would I scooter it? Will it hurt?
Where
is the best bbq near ginie? etc> So i am wondering why an ads for doria slides
and
gas blending training in Pennsylvania is on florida based cavers.

These are issues that have been beaten to death here and elsewhere, i dont think
anyone wants to change. its just the blithering clueless idiots who stumble
online
here yammer for a month and disappear who like this kind of stuff. I suspect
the next
we will hear is your deathbed conversion to dir, then complaints about GII's
style
when you are the 147,696th person to ask why not use steel tanks with a wetsuit
bondage wings and force fins, a horrible burst of flames and then the
inevitable half
dozen unsubscribes, until you dissappear or get a clue and remerge under a
hotmail
account, again. Are you getting the idea that we have seen this bullshit
before??

BTW the profanity is a green light to take the gloves off, ask a civil question
for a
civl reply.

oh and How is Max Bottomtime doing??

later,

Al Marvelli
