Heck, the concept of a tank mounted propulsion unit goes back to the late fifties. There was a unit that looked like a the propane tank from a gas grill that had a clamp on one end into which you would fit your tank and the prop on the other. It made your tank rather looooong. I guess the advantage was you could stand it upright and slip on your tank without your buddy's help :). I recall that Lloyd Bridges AKA Mike Nelson even used one in one of the episodes of Sea Hunt.
