Subject: More Questions about DIR
Date: Sun, 21 Nov 1999 15:39:35 -0800
Hi,

Currently for my pressure gauge I have it on a short hose and I run it over
my left shoulder and
under my left harness strap so that the gauge is held close to my body. To
check my gauge all
I have to do is look down. With the DIR method the pressure gauge needs to
be unhooked from
the D ring on the belt which is an extra step I don't have to take. I also
run a high pressure gauge off
of my right tank so if I have to isolate I will at all times during the exit
know exactly how much air is in
my remaining tank. Is there anything wrong with my approach. I was also
wondering about the
halcyon knife holder, it has a pocket that you insert the knife into, it
seems to me that the knife could
slide out of the pocket. I switched to a similar knife pocket that attaches
to the belt the same way
as the halcyon knife but has Velcro to go around the knife handle to hold it
in place. I also ordered
the halcyon backplate and I am very happy with it especially the crotch
strap that has a loop in it
instead of a plastic snap that gets broken or mangled. I have also tried
working with my stage bottles
and have notice that they hang down rather low. Is there a good way to get
them really close to the
body. Currently, I have the shoulder D ring towards the top of my shoulder
but even this location
seems to allow the stage bottles to hang fairly low.

p.s. Sorry about the attachments, I didn't know this was a problem.
