Joe, I have been in the compressor business for 19 years. You get what you pay for in this business, especially small machines. Along with simple durability and reliability, the most important thing to consider is filtration. BAUER has always maintained the high road in all categories. You may pay a small fraction more than the private labeled Italian knock-offs, but it is more than well worth it. The Italian pumps have always had a very weak final stage. We will extend every possible discount to your project on a real machine. It has disassembled itself on two occasions spewing parts hot parts around my basement, fortunately we run it remotely from another location, and spends more time down than running. It has turned out to have been a very poor choice. It is now time to cut my losses and repace this unit. Besides a questionable design the RIX was probably worn out when I got it so I do not want to make the same error and purchase another used and worn out compressor. Cost is a major factor since we do not have deep pockets. The unit will see very limited use so a small capacity unit is fine. I have done some shopping around and the lowest cost unit I have found is a MAX AIR 35 3,5 cfm unit being offered by Leisure Pro for $ 2550....................normally you get what you pay for.............has anyone had any experience with this unit or heard anything regarding it ?????or have an alternate unit and source to recommend. thanks JOE
