Not necessary. Get the shoulder straps the right length and the rig comes off
easily.
I detach my drysuit inflator and the waistband, unwrap my main regs and slide my
left arm through the strap. The whole rig then rolls off onto my right shoulder
with
me breathing from the long hose. Easy, even when RIB diving.

IME, most of them make the mistake of setting the harness up far too tight, so
struggle
to get out of it.
