Hi, I have been reading some of the articles on this web site and it is apparent to me that some people are spending much to much time putting each other down and not nearly enough time communicating in a constructive manor. I hope that I can influence this to be an open forum where people can express their ideas without fear of being slammed or otherwise put down. I would also hope that divers of differing levels of ability and or training can also benefit (at my multibillion dollar company that produces satellite communication systems for the entire world, we strongly believe that no question is a stupid question and that putting others down is extremely inappropriate). Also, I would hope that divers would not be put at risk of possible death because of fear of embarrassment over a dive gone bad (not that I have had such an incident) or be afraid to ask questions, learn, or allow others to know about mistakes (so they can learn from their mistakes in a constructive manor). A community that puts down its own members only diminishes itself in the eyes of everyone else and may result in a loss of some of the advantages that the tech diving community currently enjoys. John p.s. I appreciate the constructive remarks I have receive concerning my last email and am currently looking into DIR and I apologies to the members of this group that don't fit the above description. I should also add that it has been about 8 years since my Full Cave course and DIR may not have been around at that time.
