Heart attacks are caused by two very simple reasons: genetics or what we today call "lifestyle", i.e. food choices, fitness etc. Genetics can usually be discovered through proper medical screening and these individuals OF ANY AGE should not dive. Lifestyle is a matter of personal decisions. Poor lifestyle choices over a person's ENTIRE life span result in heart attacks. Genetics can strike even the fittest young athlete - remember the death of ice skater Andrea Grinkof (spelling ???), age 27 or the fittest "old" athlete - remember Jim Fixx.
