Art, you got screwed - stainless steel means stainless everything. The other big screw job being perpetuated out there ( mostly on the Farm Animal crowd in cave diving ) is the plated snap , or bogus stainless steel snap. When in doubt, get out a magnet and see if you really have stainless. My stuff is several years old, as in nine years in some cases. I dive both fresh and salt.
