This brings up a good point. The BRL bulbs that come standard in AUL/EE lights is rated for only a 50 hour duty cycle. What this means is that you probably can get more then 50 hours out of the bulb, but the chances of the filament breaking increase dramatically. Personally, I just change the bulbs out proactively every 30-35 hours or so. Sure, I wind up throwing away some "good bulbs", but I haven't had one blow prior to a dive since I started doing that 4 years ago.
