Philip, I have a DUI Tri-Lam with rock boots (size 11). Interesting problem DUI has come up with for us. It is the age old question - boxers or briefs. First, I layer like this, a thin cotton sock and a heavy wool pair, dry suit and rock boot. I have spring straps on the Jet fins. The XL Jet fins fit but are a bit snug (no cramping, etc.). I bring this up because I dropped 70 bucks on a set of Turtle fins. These things are just slightly big, maybe just right for others, for the boot configuration, but I just don't dig the looseness, I just like to know where everybody is when... Anyway, after close inspection, it appears the rail on the Turtles do not extend down as far along the side as the JF, thus they look like they would want to flex at the arch. After all of this I have opted for the XL Jet Fins, snug, and take a slight twist to get them off at the end of a dive, but my preferred option. It turns out the spring straps are really there for looks, ha. Also, after looking at the jet fins the problem does not appear to be in toto with the width of the pocket hindering the fit, but also the height of the pocket at the toe as well. Thus, I drug all my crap to the sporting goods store and tried on a pair of Converse Chuck Conners All Stars in the layering configuration previously subscribed. The toe on the tenni is much lower in profile than the rock boot, they were cheaper than the rock boots, came in colors that can coordinate with the pockets of my BC, but most of all they are all about cool! What options do we have? Like the rock boot idea and love the JF. If nothing else will live with snug. Brett
