Subject: WKPP Swimthrough Summary
On Saturday, May 29, 1999, the WKPP successfully completed the world's
longest underwater cave traverse between Big Dismal sink and Cheryl
Sink, travelling a distance of over 14,000 feet.

The swimthrough team, consisting of exploration divers George Irvine,
Ted Cole, and Jarrod Jablonski, was supported by a relatively small but
extremely dedicated, efficient support crew. The WKPP thanks the
following for showing up and really putting forth a tremendous effort to
get things done in a flawless manner this past weekend:

In-water support crew at Big Dismal: Terry Koritz and Greg Jackson

In-water support crews at Cheryl: Billy Baxter, Jody Everett, Tamara
Kendall, Bob Sherwood, and Ron DeAmorim

Surface Crew at Big D: Keith Suderman (surface manager), Nanci LeVake,
Skip MacElhannon, Greg Jackson, Terry Koritz

Surface Crew at Cheryl: Bob Sherwood, Achim Schloeffel, Christian
Krzywicki, Cameron Martz, Tamara Kendall, Tony Rue, Jody Everett, Billy
Baxter, Mike Wisenbaker, Ron DeAmorim, Erik Baker, Peter

In addition, everyone lsited above helped with setting up at Big Dismal
Saturday morning. Also thanks to everyone who showed up Friday night and
stayed late to help set up for Saturday's dive.

Thanks To Chris Werner for setting out the ropes for us and giving us
instructions on how to rig Big Dismal.

Everyone who showed up this weekend worked together flawlessly - every
person did more than their fair share of work, but everyone did it with
a smile on their face.

I want the team to use this weekend's crew as an example as to how we
need to work together as a team - no matter what size of crew we have,
where we are working, or what kind of dives are taking place.

Everyone who came out to help this weekend will definitely get their
fair share of good dives this year. We are going to be giving more
opportunities to those who demonstrate that they are true team players.

Thanks again to the dive crew who came out to support the swimthrough
this weekend - we can't say this enough.

I look forward to working with all of you again in the near future!!!
This is an excellent way to kick off the new dive season - let's keep up
the excellent work!!!
