Apollo's are great scooters, we both rent and sell them. However they are slower than a Mako and have a shorter burn time. They will give you about a 45 minute burn time (at about 3/4 max speed). The are good to about 400ft max depth, although the official rating is 165 in conversations with Apollo they have quoted this depth. They have what I believe is the best clutch on the market. Up here we rent them with an additional battery for the second dive, a no brainer to change. You really can't go wrong with an Apollo as long as you realize their burn time and speed. All that said, we have own and have available to our customers Gavin, predators and Apollo scooters in stock. We rent apollos all season to the wreck diving crowd up here in the Northeast they usually get used for digging and in a years rental season even including this winter we have done zero to them. A very good N.E. scooter. In spite of my love of the Apollo for your application I question whether the limitations of the Apollo may be a bit to much. On the down side the makos are leakers, and the teknas can be bombs, plus they're starting to get hard to find a decent one.
