The other day I was reading an italian rec scuba magazine (SUB), when I
found an interview to the T.S.A. (Trimix scuba association) general manager.
You should already know who they are, some time ago somebody
pointed out an URL to their page, I don't remember if it was
www.tsaeurope.com or www.tsaeurope.it or something similar.
I'm not connected now, and I'm too lazy to check. Anyway, they are
those that send you to 70m with independent doubles
(one of mix and one of air) and FOUR regulator! In this
interview this person said that their method is ideal for
the Mediterranean sea, where many divers already dive 'till 50/60
metres with air, for historical reason(!?). They gave them
a safer (?) way to go where they already go. But the best came
after, when he said that this method is becoming popular
in the US too, and down there it is called, guess what,
HOGARTHIAN !!!!!!
It's incredible how the reality can be fooled!
I don't know here how many people have already heard of DIR etc.
Technical diving is not very popular, even if lately there is a lot
of advertising on scuba magazines.
But what I saw on them is not DIR, for sure.
I'm not a tech diver, but I'm interested in safer way to dive, and I
totally agree with DIR principles.
I think I will write something to this magazine, I should be able to
ilustrate the advantages and the reasons behind DIR. And, moreover, there is
a lot of material in the archives, even in my 'personal' archive. But if
somebody want help, you're welcome! They push this kind of strokery very
hard and, sooner or later, somebody will hurt himself...
Regards, Stefano
