For those who always wondered, Parker Turner coined the term stroke after meeting Farr in the Bahamas. Gavin, Main, English and Turner were the leaders in cave diving in the mid to late 80's, long before the first edition of Farr's book in 91, and the exploits of the WKPP were certainly well documented by the time the second edition came out 5 or 6 years ago. The swim thru from Sullivan to Cheryl in the late 80's was a world record at the time. That Farr refuses to recognise or mention the WKPP in either edition is directly attributable to his resentment of Parker.
