WKPP team,

This upcoming year will be an extremely busy one for the Woodville Karst
Plain Project. We have dozens of sites that need to be checked out,
connections to be made, samples to be collected, and lots of new cave to
explore.

With this busy schedule at hand, you guys are going to have to be very good
at being a team to make the most out of the time we dive together. There
are several standards we have set to make sure everyone is on the same page
and our team efficiency is at a maximum :

---------------------------------

1)Everyone diving with us on-site must be full cave certified.

2)We have reinstated the sponsorship program. This means if you do not have
a gas diver or an extremely experienced support diver (someone who has done
support for the team on a _consistent_ basis for atleast two years) to
vouch for you and your ability, you need to find one before your next team
dive. I will be asking for names of sponsors next time we dive.

Sponsors will dive with the new members, teach them standards, gear
configuration, and emergency procedures before bringing them on site for
the first time. They will also ensure that the new members are diving under
more experienced team members once they have started working with the
project

This also means established support and gas divers must make time to help
new divers. This is a fundamental duty of all WKPP team members.

Mentors are an important part of the team structure that we need to really
emphasize - this is the only way to pass on what has been learned, and it
has been extremely important in bringing up new gas divers since day one.
Every single diver on the team should take advantage of opportunities to
dive with the more experienced members whenever possible

3)New people coming to help the team out will do surface support for their
first time on-site. Please realize everyone helps out with surface work, so
you will not be the only ones doing it!

4)We are going to start setting up rescue/O2 administration/CPR courses for
team members throughout the year. This will ensure everyone is up-to -date
with standard emergency procedures. Either Ken or I will get back to you
with further information as this comes together .

5) I will be collecting copies of DAN Master insurance and Full Cave cards
during the first team meeting this year. If you cannot make it, you need to
mail these to me asap. If I do not have your copies on record, I cannot let
you dive.

----------------------------------

***Please realize these are all being set in mind as to what is best for
the team. There is no reason we have to accomodate anyone at risk of the
rest of the WKPP members . We have already proven what we can do with
efficient teamwork, the right attitude, and the best cave divers out there
- we will not allow anyone or anything to jeopardize this.

We are looking forward to an extremely productive season for the WKPP!!!
There will be plenty of diving for everyone involved - we have a lot of
goals to accomplish as soon as conditions allow!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again soon! Thank you for your time,

Dawn Kernagis
