This article includes the following: Asked Tuesday about whether any other divers had to be medically treated at the hospital, Sloan dismissed two incidents as nonserious, treat-and-release trips to the hospital. I'm just having a real hard time imagining blacking out underwater as being "nonserious". It's dismissiveness stretched to absurdity. The fact that the diver will or has recovered does not diminish the seriousness of the incident or the value of lessons to be learned from it. It's right to be sensitive about the terrible tragedy that occurred this week, but when I see statements like this one that fly in the face of all reason it's difficult for me to believe the speaker is at all willing to learn from one's errors. That is far from an indication of sensitivity or respect, it's an indication that such unnecessary errors are likely to continue at the expense of further injury and death. Those who love and respect life *should* be frustrated by such an attitude, wherever it's found. - Todd
