I am entering this conversation late. I might have missed a little but =
I haven't (so far) seen anything about the new "Generic" Dive Rite =
Light. Some call it the Ginnie Light because they are exclusively =
selling it. It costs approx $300 and is made of polypropylene. It =
doesn't have the ever so popular bananna plug. It does have 2 clamps on =
the lid so you can convert it into a bananna set-up if you like. It =
comes with a test tube that is of coarse adjustable. =20

I dove with one during my last trip to Florida and I didn't find =
anything wrong with it. Seemed like a well constructed canister light.

What you guys think?

Brian

Sorry I missed most of the conversation on this, but, I was =
diving Madison
last weekend; heard about the new HID light from dive-rite; so I =
wrote them
and asked about it. Look at there web page and consider it. The =
info I got
back sugests they are still in the experimental stage; not sure if =
or when it
    is available. =20
I too am in the market for another primary. Presently I have two =
scouts
and an old dive rite ( the square one ). Once the primary gave me =
trouble,
and that was when I took lessons on how to cave dive. =20
Consider this; carrying a single 12 volt battery and a ballest ( =
I hope
this weighs about the same as a two 12 volt battery canister), =
having the
light of the sun with you and it lasting longer than the currently =
available
    primarys of the same size.
I am not saying this is the light for you as I don't know what =
you need: a
light NOW, or take a chance on a light that is new in design (this =
of course
means there may be improvements after the first year, although, I'm =
know dive-
rite stands behind there gear). I KNOW I'm going to wait and see =
when the
light becomes available as to the price and specs. of this new =
light, and then
I'll buy a new primary; Which will be either an AUL, Explorer Pro =
14, or the
    new HID from dive-rite.
       =20
The furture looks bright, from dive-rite,
NO, I'm not a salesman for Lamar, but it a good sale =
pitch, eh?
