If you want to look at High Intensity Discharge Arc Lamps (HID), the folks at
Sartek Industries were showing a whole series of them at DEMA. Looked awfully
impressive - very bright white light, long burn times, etc. These are "real" and
ready to ship. They will also convert your existing cannister lights to use the
HID heads

It it, however, not cheap. Their web site is www.sarind.com
