I have had both types and as I live in a quite cold climate, the Pro version is really the way to go as sub-zero temperatures aren't too good for the acrylic version. The Pro version is also more flexible which means that it is better for travelling as shocks have a lesser impact. The price difference is only around $20. The good thing about EE compared to AUL(?) is that on ordering, you can specify small changes to your light. Again, as I dive in a cold climate with thick gloves, I asked Rat to make the diametre on the switch protector larger so that it is easier to work the switch and he did it just like I requested. The service from EE, also, is one of the best I have ever experienced. Hope this helps.
